Chess Club members will continue activities as usual for the rest of the school year. Club members also plan  on possibly throwing a pizza party, though the details have not been finalized yet.

The final meeting of Chess Club will be on the last Monday of the school year, May 21, according to Brian McDonald, club officer and senior.

McDonaldsaid he suggests that students interested in the club continue playing and speak with Sameer Manchanda, club officer and sophomore.

“To students hoping to join next year, I say just keep playing and ask Sameer to teach you some things, and pretty soon you can get really good,” McDonald said.

He also recommends contacting club sponsor Margaret Winans for more information about the club next year and meeting dates.

“I think this has been a tremendously successful year for ‘Chess Club the Best Club.’ We won a state championship, and got many new people interested in chess,” McDonald said.
