Aperture Club is scheduled to have its next meeting April 16. According to president and senior Sam Patterson, the topics that will be discussed include spring break, the club’s future and photo contest entries. The open-ended spring break contest, “My Vacation,” as well as the “Four Shots” contest submissions are due April 16. According to Patterson, Aperture Club has one to two meetings left for the school year after this meeting.
For the club’s future, Patterson said via email that he is preparing for next year’s club leaders.
“Two members show a major interest in being club leaders next year. I’m not worried about it, as we have a lot of motivation, and I know that it’ll be taken care of. I’m doing work behind the scenes to make sure of it,” Patterson said.
“The electing of officers is an organic thing; it is not necessarily an election,” Sponsor Jim Streisel said. “Even in the past, someone just stepped up and took that leadership position. Every year, I have been sponsor for the club. I’m not sure who the next leader will be. A lot of clubs at Carmel come and go depending on leadership, so if someone wants to step up and take that role on, I’m more than happy to continue on with this capacity,” Sponsor Jim Streisel said.
According to Streisel, students are still welcome to visit club, even if they’re just seeing if Aperture Club is something they want to be part of next year.
