The school’s administration has begun student identification checks during SRT. According to assistant principal John Newton, it is essential that everyone has an ID so that it is possible to account for everyone at the school.
Furthermore, the previous identification check the school conducted concluded that approximately 300 students did not have identification with them.
“If you are walking down the hall we would like to confirm where you are where you are supposed to be for the school’s safety,” Newton said.
The next identification check will be sometime during the week of Oct. 28, Newton said. At the moment, administration is still attempting to figure out what kind of disciplinary action they will enact for students who do not have identification.
Newton said, “We understand that you guys do not use your ID card very often, but it is still very important to have it on you at all times.”
