Just starting this year, Greyhound Station has been staying open after school until 3:30 p.m. so that athletes or other students who stay late are able to come by and pick up a healthy snack.
According to Greyhound Station manager Theresa Quade, the school decided to add this extra time so students who stay late for clubs or athletics are able to get healthy snacks whenever they need.
“My kids always came home hungry after school, so I thought it would be nice,” Quade said.
Freshman Natalie McKenney said she agrees that the extra time is nice. “It’s good to know that if I ever have to go and grab a snack, I’ll be able to,” McKenney said.
Both Quade and McKenney said they believe that the athletes, or any other hungry student, will appreciate the efforts the school makes to keep snack options available for them.
