Members of the Muslim Student Association (MSA) plan to meet Nov. 21. Parmida Mostafavi, club president and senior, said members who will participate in the club’s “Secret Shahid” event this year will be assigned names at this meeting.
“We thought it would be cute to do a little Secret Santa gift exchange. Next meeting, we’ll put everyone’s name in a bag and draw them. At the meeting after that, around the beginning of December, we’ll exchange gifts,” Mostafavi said.
At the previous meeting, members discussed the new identity of the Marvel superhero Ms. Marvel, who will be a teenage Muslim American girl from New Jersey named Kamala Khan.
David James, club sponsor and science teacher, actively participates in club discussion. “I am excited to learn about their culture and their religion,” James said.
Members of the club continue to meet every other Thursday after school in Room E242.
