The Carmel Clay Public Library (CCPL) will host a program called Dine on a Dime, which allows teens to make snacks that they would normally have to purchase themselves. Dine on a Dime will be in the program room of the CCPL on Jan. 28 after school until 5 p.m.
The theme for this Dine on a Dime is 1914 because the library will be celebrating its 100th birthday this year. Peppermint Cocoa will be the snack that students make at the program.
According to Jamie Beckman, young adult librarian at the CCPL, this Dine on a Dime will be slightly different than previous ones.
“Dine on a Dime will be helping the library celebrate its 100th anniversary with a special 1914 spin on the program,” Beckman said.
According to Divya Sarda, Teen Library Council (TLC) vice president and senior, students, along with going to programs like Dine on a Dime, should also go to programs organized by the TLC.
“Since the TLC is run by teens pretty much, we’re making programs that we are interested in. So that means it’s programs that other students would be interested in. So it’s basically being designed for students themselves. So that’s why they should take advantage of that,” Sarda said.
