The deadline for the Carmel Education Foundation (CEF) scholarship form is March 14. When students complete their scholarship forms, they are eligible for any scholarship that fits their criteria. However, even if they may be eligible for several, they may only receive one scholarship.
Senior Sasha Scott said the amount of scholarships is a great opportunity for college-bound seniors.
“The variety of scholarships (CEF provides) is really great,” said Scott. “The more opportunities there are, the better chances I have. It would be extremely difficult to pay for college without them.”
Coming up on Feb. 27 is the 28th Annual CEF Showcase, which will be held in the CHS auditorium. The event is open to the public and free of charge. Donations are accepted and will be divided between the CEF and the participating schools.
“The showcase is an opportunity for the elementary and middle schools to perform in another venue other than their own school,” said Stephanie McDonald, co-executive director of the CEF. “There is an opportunity for them to showcase their skills for a broad audience. Performing at the high school gives the students a thrill to perform on the big stage in the big auditorium.”
