Although DECA currently has no plans for a fundraiser, DECA sponsor Laura Cardamon said she hopes to have the next one in March or April.
According to DECA president Mitchell Morfas, fundraisers are important for helping DECA with various expenses such as fees for entering competitions.
“We’re just trying to get involved in as many fundraisers as we can,” Morfas said.
According to Cardamon, students are also continuing to prepare for the DECA State Career Development Conference (SCDC) in Indianapolis from March 9 to 11. Students who perform well at SCDC will qualify for the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Atlanta from May 3 to 6. ICDC will feature students from across the country as well as from foreign countries such as Canada and Mexico.
“We hope that we are successful,” Cardamon said. “We’re hoping to place high so we get students who will be able to go.”
