The Creative Writing Club is putting together a literary magazine composed of pieces by club members, and it will be available within the next few weeks.
According to Ari Roberts, club secretary and junior, the magazine will include short stories, excerpts from longer writings, poems and plenty of artwork. Roberts is submitting a piece from a novel she has been working on.
“If nothing else (, sharing writing) generates ideas and gets members excited about writing,” Jerry Brickley, Creative Writing Club sponsor and English teacher, said.
Roberts hopes that the club will continue to release a literary magazine at the end of every year as it shows how each writer has grown. The club will make extra copies of the magazine for nonmembers, and they will be available in Room E148.
In addition to compiling the literary magazine, the club is trying to decide on their leaders for next year.
