The PTO Open House, which will occur on Aug. 28 at 6:00 p.m., is a yearly event held shortly after school starts to integrate parents into their children’s new school year. Parents get to experience their child’s school day and go through a brief tour of their blue and gold day schedule.

“They go out and follow their student’s schedule. They follow to blue and gold day, and it’s basically a meet-the-teacher night,” Principal John Williams said.

The event is an opportunity for teachers to give background about the class and what parents can expect. The parents also get a chance to interact with the teacher, enabling them to be a bigger part of their kid’s life.

“It is important that parents get a chance toyou know parents, they’re very anxious tooknow what your schedule is like and who your teachers are. It’s a very good way, I think, to start that partnership between, teacher, parent and students, and working toward making sure the student is successful,” Williams said.

The parents also have the opportunity of watching the Ambassadors perform. There are no changes to the program this year.

“It’s just a great night for our parents to come in and be in the school and see what you go through in a day,” Williams said.
