Currently ranked fourth in the state, the men’s varsity tennis team looks to take on North Central on Sept. 3. The varsity team is already four games into the season with four wins and hopes to continue its streak of consecutive victories.
Head coach Mike Bostic said the team is anxious to take on the North Central Panthers.
“I don’t sense any nervousness (in the Carmel team). We are ranked behind them (North Central) in the latest poll, and I think our guys are hungry to prove themselves,” Bostic said via e-mail.
However, according to Bostic, it does not look like an easy victory with North Central ranked number one in both singles and doubles. “I expect a good competitive, highly energetic match. It will surely be exciting,” Bostic added via e-mail.
As two of the top teams in Indiana, Carmel and North Central both anticipate the upcoming match.
“This is one of the state’s best rivalries, but for Thursday it is just a regular season contest,” Bostic said via e-mail. “We have a lot of big regular season matches and they all show us a little about ourselves and our opponents.” Faraz Majid <[email protected]>
