The women’s cross-country team will participate in the 2011 Sectional meet at White River Elementary school on Tuesday at 5 p.m. The team finished the regular season with an undefeated record, and it looks to defend last year’s Sectional championship.
“The girls are looking forward to defending last year’s state championship, and that starts with the Sectional,” Head Coach Mark Ellington said.
Sarah Bennett, varsity runner and senior, said the Sectional is the beginning of the real season for the team.
“Although we tried our best to win every race during the regular season, the season that matters starts on Tuesday,” Bennett said.
