according to science department chairperson Jennifer Marlow.

The science department also plans to send four students to the Indiana Junior Academy of Science competition on Nov. 7. This event will be an entire day of presenting research and testing.

Senior Rishabh Kumar will participate in the problem-solving, Science Olympiad, and issues competitions. He will also present his research. Kumar said he started researching partially because his mom does research as well.

“My mom does research also and I wanted to see how it is. I started last year and I really liked it so I just continued throughout the year,” Kumar said.

Throughout the year, the science teachers will continue to discuss which standards students will be expected to meet and which they should exceed. The department will also implement new technology, including educational apps like Elements 4D.

“We’re a little bit all over the board with what technology we use in our science classrooms,” Marlow said.
