In its next few meetings, Carmel Mayor’s Youth Council (CMYC) will plan for the Nov. 22 Holiday on the Square event. According to Leah Zukerman, CMYC vice president of expansion and senior, members will prepare holiday decorations along Main Street in downtown Carmel.
“We will be running three volunteer shifts at the gazebo at City Hall and basically become Santa’s elves for little kids, delivering gifts to children,” Zukerman said.
According to Natasha Crasta, CMYC event director and senior, Holiday on the Square will feature a holiday lighting ceremony, a live pet farm with reindeer and multiple holiday activities, children’s activities and a holiday farmer’s market.
“This year, people will be able to fill up Santa’s sleigh with gifts at the event. Those gifts will be donated to the Carmel Fire Department’s Christmas Assistance Program,” Crasta said.
