Junior Gloria Xue talks to a fellow Teen Library Council (TLC) member after a meeting. Students like Xue have played an integral role in planning for the event.
The Teen Library Council (TLC) of the Carmel Clay Public Library (CCPL) is preparing for an event, the Trivia Cafe, in which teens can attend to test their knowledge about various books. Trivia Cafe will be held on March 28 in the program room of the CCPL at 7 p.m.
Gloria Xue, junior and TLC member, said she has many goals for the event.
“I hope to increase awareness about the library’s events available to teens to disperse the myth that the library only hold activities for younger children,” Xue said.
According to Jamie Beckman, young adult librarian at the CCPL, students should attend the event.
“During the Trivia Cafe teens can hang out and relax with their friends while putting to good use all of the relevant and irrelevant information crammed in their brains by answering trivia questions to earn prizes,” Beckman said.
