The CHS Theater is currently preparing for their upcoming production, the Studio One Acts, which students will perform from Oct. 1 to 3. There are four separate acts: “Backflip,” “The Future is in Your Tiny Hands,” “Appearances” and “Arabian Nights.”
Junior Tanner Chaille plays Steven, the moderator of presidential elections for elementary students in “The Future is in Your Tiny Hands.” “Everyone who’s involved in tech and acting is so enthusiastic and there’s just so much support from so many different groups of people and it’s really easy to have a great time (in theater),” he said.
According to Jim Peterson, director of theater and film, the evenings of the shows will be nights of hilarity. “Backflip” is about a psychiatrist and his patient, “The Future is in Your Tiny Hands” is about an elementary student government election debate, “Appearances” is about a girl trying on dresses and “Arabian Nights” is about finding love in a bazaar.
“(The cast and crew has) been working really hard and all the shows are super funny,” Chaille said. “It’s not a long ordeal. It’s like an hour and a half at the most and it’s just a short way to have a lot of fun, laugh and see your classmates do something they love.”
The Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre recently ran its adaptation of “Little Women Musical.” HiLite’s review of the show can be found on https://hilite.org/archives/42840.
