The women’s track team kicks off its regular season on March 31 against Hamilton Southeastern (HSE). The meet will begin at 5 p.m. at the Carmel Stadium.
Junior Jessica Endicott, who runs the 100-meter dash and the 4 x 100-meter relay, said the team has demonstrated strength at the beginning of the season.
“So far the girls have done so well in the indoor meets we’ve had,” Endicott said. “We won the MIC indoor and also the Indoor State at Purdue, and we have really improved this year. The team started strong with a lot of new people coming in, which helped. We also began practices with hard workouts right off the bat to get us ready for this new season.”
Endicott said she feels the team is going to have a strong start in the opening meets and hopes students will attend and support the team at a meet.
“We have ran many time trials to see who will be running events and the coaches are really working on getting us ready for our first meet on Wednesday,” Endicott added. “We are competing against HSE, who always has a very good team, so in order to win we need to all give it our best in each event and push through until the end.” By Ryan Duffy <[email protected]>
