On September 28, the Carmel Clay Public Library will offer a class on how to create a blog and strategies for promoting it. It is being held by the Writer’s Center of Indiana Program. These classes are taking place from 6:30 to 8:30 in the evening in the Book Talk Room of the library.
“I think it would be really interesting to take this class,” said senior Surhbi Dhawan. “Blogging is a personal interest of mine, especially Facebook and as of recent, Twitter.” Dhawan recently opened up an account for Twitter because a lot of her friends own accounts themselves and recommended the website to her.
“We offer these types of activities to the public to try and broaden its knowledge of up-to-date methods of communication,” said community head Beth Smietana. She tries to find a different variety of events to take place at the library.
This class costs $20 for Writer’s Center members, $30 for non members, and $16 for Writer’s Center senior, teacher or student members. All interested in attending must call ahead to reserve a spot. By Lauren Mugavin <[email protected]>
