Art Club will not meet for the duration of the school year

For the 2010 to 2011 school year, Art Club will no longer be an active club. According to club sponsor Linda Lutes, all three sponsors decided to give the club a year-long hiatus.

“I’ve been a sponsor for six or seven years, and it was getting harder and harder for me to stay after school,” Lutes said. She said she felt burnt out and left running the club up to the other two club sponsors, Anna Beelke and Katharien Ristow. Beelke and Ristow made the final decision to end the club.

Former club responsibilites such as painting bowls for the Empty Bowls charity foundation will now be the art department’s responsibility. Lutes said art classes will paint the bowls instead.

“It’s been a long time for the club, and I just needed a break,” Lutes said. By Afra Hussain <[email protected]g>
