There is still no news from the Model U.N. location, IUPUI, about an organizational meeting regarding this year’s Model U.N. schedule, according to club sponsor Tracy Hadden.
“I can’t really do anything without hearing from them first. They haven’t held their main organizational meeting yet, and I’ve heard of no plans for one. Until they hold that, I have no information,” she said.
Hadden said the call-out meeting for Model U.N. will take place within a week of when she gets information from IUPUI.
Students in graduate school ran Model U.N. in the past and Hadden said they may be having trouble finding volunteers for this job.
“They need to find grad students who can take time off from their spring break, which is when the main Model U.N. event will be held. I know they’ve usually had trouble finding people in the past, and that may be the issue here,” she said.
Junior Yeseul “Rossie” Nho, who was a participant in Model U.N. last year, said she thinks Model U.N. is a good opportunity for students, especially those interested in international relations.
She said, “It’s a great idea for anybody to do; I had a lot of fun. When more information is available, interested people should go to the call-out meeting.” By Kendall Harshberger <[email protected]>
