Kids Against Hunger Club is scheduled to attend an all-day packaging event at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds in Noblesville on April 16. The event will last from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. According to club sponsor Maggie Cassidy, the process of having a pack-a-thon has been very enjoyable and all the members are very excited for the event.
“One of the leaders of Kids Against Hunger Club of Central Indiana came and talked to members of the club to inform them about the Pack-a-thon,” Cassidy said. “They also gave us information to pass out to notify the community about this great event.”
Non-members who are interested will need to pick up Code of Conduct forms in Room E151 in order to attend the event, which falls on Global Youth Service Day. Unlike typical packaging events, this one will be run by different “teams” in order to assure maximum productivity, according to Chris Law, club president and senior.
“Members of our club will be volunteering to help those who are packaging the food by participating on the “Red Shirt Team,” of which all members are wearing red shirts,” Law said. “At normal events we encourage members to wear Kids Against Hunger shirts but it is fine if they don’t.”
Added by Cassidy, “We are very excited to for everybody to attend. Our previous goal is becoming a reality. We cannot wait to help even more people around the world.” By Kelly Clark
