Men's tennis team to compete in State Championship Oct. 14 and 15

Men’s tennis team prepares for State

The men’s tennis team will look to capture its seventh State Championship at the State tournament on Friday and Saturday, October 14 and 15, according to Head Coach Mike Bostic.

“I have a great amount of confidence in our senior leaders and am confident they will have the team ready for the challenges,” Bostic said. “We have been through a lot together and are stronger because of it.”

Captain and senior Elliott Yee said, “If we win on Friday, then we will play on Saturday at North Central at 10 a.m. and then 2 p.m.”

Due in part to all of the success the team has had, there is a lot of pressure going into the State tournament. Bostic said, “We have done a great job of handling the pressure. The boys have played in so many big matches this season.”

Bostic also said that he wanted fans to come out and support the team. “The Greyhound tennis team needs student body support for our matches,” Bostic said. “Their energy can really give our guys some added motivation.”

Bostic is not the only one who wants the support of the fans. “We need all the support we can get,” Yee said. “State is right after school on Friday so we want people to really come out for that.”

Hi KaraThose are great ideas and we plan to paapicitrte in more local events to help our fund raising efforts. As always the problem is getting volunteers to help to share the burden. It can’t be done effectively by one or two people and needs the community to get involved. That is our goal. Thanks for your input.Howard
