Astronomy Club to host planetarium show Jan. 27

The Astronomy Club is set to host a planetarium show on Jan. 27. The next meeting date is yet to be determined.

“The next show is going to be a live show, and it will explain some of the beautiful things in the winter night sky that you can see,” Yanying Chen, club president and sophomore, said via email. “I hope that more students will come and join us.”

According to sponsor Keith Turner, the club does not have any events planned for the near future due to the temperature and weather.

“It’s just too cold for outdoor activities right now, so we will not have any for awhile,” Chen said.

Chen said she encourages new members to join at any time of the year, and it is still a good idea to join even if it is already the second semester. Prospective new members can simply show up at the next meeting if they wish to do so.

“We don’t have that much experience, so new people won’t feel like they have to catch up or anything,” she said.
