The second semester of the school year has brought four more outings for each student in the K-8 mentoring class.
Senior Niki Kingston said she is still preparing for her four.
“Last semester I took my boy to Qdoba and then we played basketball at his house,” Kingston said.
Kingston, however, said she occasionally has trouble scheduling outings.
“Sometimes it’s hard to get the parents to call you back,” she said.
Robin Pletcher, K-8 mentoring class instructor, said she has been conducting interviews with applicants for next year’s K-8 class.
“I had right around 60 (students) that applied and that I interviewed,” she said. “It was a busy three and a half weeks.”
Despite the challenges it may present, Kingston said she finds the program enjoyable. ”
“It’s a fun class and everyone should take it,” Kingston said. “My kids are awesome.”
