Algebra I student and freshman Graham Fugate is about to reach an important time in his CHS career. Over the next few weeks, CHS students will begin scheduling classes for the 2013-14 school year. Many students, such as Fugate, must decide whether to take the traditional math route or to take more challenging courses. Fugate decided to take the road most traveled.

“I plan to take Geometry next year.” Fugate said. “I am in Algebra right now, and (Geometry) is the next level of math, so that is the (class) I am taking, assuming I pass.”

Jacinda Sohalski, chairperson of the math department, said via e-mail that teacher schedule recommendations for each student will be input into the school’s computers sometime this week. Recommendations are revisited in the spring to make sure students are still on the right track.
