Best Buddies is planning to host its bowling event at Woodland Bowl on Nov. 17. According to Dana Lawrence, club sponsor and functional academic program teacher, the members will have a chance to bowl two or three games and the buddies may choose to meet before or after the event to have lunch.
According to club treasurer and sophomore Jack Flowers, the officers will be meeting to discuss and plan how everything will be run, how to manage the funds and take care of materials needed. The event will be paid for from previous fundraisers.
“I think (the bowling) will be beneficial because some of the buddies aren’t close with their buddies yet, so they can hang out and become close in a public setting,” Flowers said.
Lawrence said this was her favorite thing to do last year and the main goal is for the buddies to make deeper friendships.
“This is the time we can walk around and see all the kids and talk to them. It’s nice,” Lawrence said.
This is Best Buddies’ third year bowling.
“I hope that the buddies become closer and that (the bowling event) goes successfully so we can keep doing this every year,” Flowers said.
