According to Future Lawyers of America Club sponsor Holly Hochstedler, the club is scheduled to have a call-out meeting on April 10 in Room F102.

“The purpose of this new club will be to further cultivate the knowledge of students who are interested in law,” Hochstedler said.

Sam Pickett, club president and junior, said at the call-out meeting potential members will receive basic information about the club and the forms needed to join.

“At the meeting there will be an introductory speech, an overview of the club and sign up forms. We will also inform potential members of the $5 club dues.”

Pickett said the idea for Future Lawyers of America Club stemmed from both his experience in Mock Trial Club and his observation of Med Club.

“We got inspiration from Mock Trial because of my personal experience with and interest in law. Med Club served as an inspiration because it always has guest speakers, and I figured that format would work well a club about law,” Pickett said. “People who want careers in the legal profession such as being a paralegal, lawyer or judge should really consider joining Future Lawyers of America Club.”
