HiLite staff members earned 12 Gold Keys in the 2013 Quill & Scroll International Writing/Photo Contest, which is co-sponsored by the American Society of News Editors’ High School Journalism Initiative. The contest attracted a total of 2,436 entries submitted to 14 divisions, with a total of 270 entries selected as National Winners and 342 individual student winners.

Sophomore Naomi Reibold won a Gold Key in In-Depth/Individual Reporting.
Junior Claudia Huang won a Gold Key in In-Depth/Individual Reporting.
Sophomore Rushi Patel won a Gold Key in In-Depth/Individual Reporting.
Junior Omeed Malek won a Gold Key in Photo Illustrations.
Senior Liane Yue won a Gold Key in Infographics.
Junior Connie Chu won a Gold Key in Infographics.
