The Carmel Clay Public Library (CCPL) will be hosting its second 1914 edition of Dine on a Dime on March 25 in the program room of the CCPL. The event will be from after school until 5 p.m.
This is the second Dine on a Dime celebrating the library’s creation 100 years ago. Rather than peppermint cocoa, which was the food of focus for the first 1914 Dine on a Dime, this Dine on a Dime will focus on caramel apple cider.
According to Jamie Beckman, young adult librarian at the CCPL, this Dine on a Dime is just as worthwhile to go to as the first one.
“It will be a different recipe focusing on a different food that was popular in 1914,” Beckman said.
According to Divya Sarda, Teen Library Council (TLC) vice president and senior, it is important for the library to host events such as Dine on a Dime for teens.
“(It is important) to help teens out and keep them interested in the library. Kids are the future of the library, so if they are not interested now, they will not be interested later,” Sarda said.
