The seven varsity runners of the women’s cross country team pose for pictures at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The team went on to place fourth at the 2013 Nike Cross Nationals.
The women’s cross country team finished their season with a fourth place finish at the Nike Cross Nationals (NXN) meet. Top finishers for Carmel were Kelcy Welch in 14th place, Kelsey Harris in 64th and Haley Harris in 83rd. For the past four years, Carmel has placed in the top ten at this event. Head Coach Mark Ellington said he was proud of the performances. “We have come really far this season. I hope to continue this success next season.”
Senior Kelcy Welch was similarly pleased with the team’s output. “I feel as if I gave it my all. Also, I am proud of my teammates and hope they go far as individuals and as a team.”
