Intramurals is starting again this year after finally finding a sponsor. Demarco Williams, sophomore and intramural basketball player, is excited the intramural tradition at this school will continue.

“I’m looking forward to playing intramural basketball this year,” Williams said.

After Bob Kopnisky, former intramurals sponsor, retired at the end of last year, this school had trouble finding a new sponsor.

Eventually, Ryan Banas, intramurals sponsor and Fall Creek Valley Middle School teacher, decided to take on the program. He said via e-mail that he is very excited to work with the intramural program alongside Wes Drew, who works at Clay Middle School.

The first intramural sport, euchre, starts Sept. 12. Intramural sports following throughout the year include table tennis, basketball, dodgeball, volleyball, pickle ball, badminton and flag football.

Williams likes intramural basketball for a few reasons. “The best part would be the intensity,” Williams said. “The last two minutes of the game get pretty competitive.”
