The Spanish Club is planning on scheduling a visit to a restaurant this October. According to sponsor Kay Vazquez, an officer’s meeting is to be held Oct. 9 to finalize the date and destination.
“It’s a purely social event,” Vazquez said.
In addition to mingling, the club will also be there to try new foods. “Going out to local restaurants is a great way to try a new place and maybe a new cuisine. Also it’s a good way to find authentic places to eat in our area, and, maybe a chance to practice our Spanish with native speakers in a fun setting,” Michael Young, club president and senior, said via e-mail.
According to Young, the restaurants the club will visit will most likely be El Torito Grill, Barcelona Tapas or Cancún.
“I’m interested to see if we can find truly authentic Spanish or Latin American cuisine in Indiana,” Young said. By Andy Yang <[email protected]>
