Chess Club continues to add new members to its team by making students feel welcome and giving them a chance to make new friends. The students meet every Monday in Room F104 to challenge themselves against other students in the game and socialize with other players.
“Whenever you’re feeling down, come to Chess Club!” said junior Rostam Razban.
Chess Club is a student-driven club. “I allow the students to plan everything including pizza parties and tournaments against other high schools,” sponsor Margaret Winans said.
This past weekend the club won first place at a tournament in Indianapolis. They plan to continue their success at competitions in the upcoming weeks with their best player Scott Lutz, co-leader of Chess Club, who received first place at the previous tournament.
“Chess club is the best club,” Razban said. By Audrey Courter <[email protected]>
