With the season coming to an end, Intramurals will have its playoffs during SRT on March 22. It is open to all students and staff. Tickets cost $1 and all proceeds go to Riley Children’s Hospital.
Intramurals’ ninth night of games was on March 11. The 10th night will occur on March 12.
Intramurals head sponsor Kyle Cluver said the highlight of the night was a strong performance from the all-girls team. He also stated that he hopes for more girls to join intramurals in the future.
Cluver said, “The Basketcases, which is an all-girls team, got another win tonight. I think it’s good for them because I’d like to see more all-female teams show up as it’s kind of male heavy right now. They are fantastic athletes and great sports and I’d like to see them be leaders and get more girls teams.”
Thomas Gastineau, intramurals member and senior, said that he enjoys spending time with his friends and the competitive aspect of intramurals.
Gastineau said, “(My favorite part is) hanging out with my friends and just enjoying playing basketball with my friends. It’s fun but it also can be competitive if you want it to be.”
