Tie Dye Club has yet to hold another meeting

The Tie Dye Club has not gotten together since their initial call-out meeting that took place on Oct. 14. This club, whose main purpose is to tie dye shirts for children at Riley Children’s Hospital, is led by Alexis Ruggiero and Allixandra “Allie” Daniels, both club presidents and sophomores. In addition to making shirts for Riley, students can also bring their own items to tie dye.

“The club has not met yet,” sponsor Kathy Hallett said. “I had a meeting last Blue Wednesday when the club was supposed to meet.” The club, which is scheduled to meet every Blue Wednesday in Hallett’s room, Room H313, is hoping to start holding meetings regularly in the near future.

At their next meeting, the club plans on decorating shirts and learning new tie dye techniques. Due to requests from athletes, the club also plans on tie dyeing socks for sports teams at Carmel, such as lacrosse.

“We’re going to bring in a bunch of dye and shirts and have everyone try it out,” Ruggerio said. “We’ll give more information about the club and talk about making our own Tie Dye Club shirt.” In order to join the club, students must sign up and bring in $5. This money will cover the cost of t-shirts and dye.

“Everyone loves tie dye. It’s really fun to do and it’s for a good cause,” Ruggerio said. By Rachel Boyd <[email protected]>
