Science Olympiad members are beginning to prepare for invitationals that take place later in the semester.
Ava Liao, Science Olympiad officer and junior, said that the Whiting Invitational will be on Dec. 7 and the Raymond Park Invitational will be on Dec. 14.
“Science Olympiad members are preparing for first semester invitationals at Whiting and Raymond Park,” she said. “These will be the first in-person competitions (the members) attend this season.”
Additionally, Science Olympiad coach Cynthia Henry said she is looking forward to seeing how teams do.
“It’s always exciting to see teams in action,” she said. “Especially watching students’ hard work pay off.”
Liao also said there are weekly after school meetings on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for members to participate in.
“Meetings are mainly self-led at this point, so we’ll typically have members doing a variety of things,” she said. “Usually there’s building going on, practicing with partners, and testing builds.”
