The Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation (CCPR) is scheduled to have the St. Vincent Tour de Carmel on Sept. 11 from 7:30 a.m. to noon at $6 per person. The last day to pre-register is Friday, Aug. 27. Along with St. Vincent Tour de Carmel, there are other events that students can volunteer for.
St. Vincent Tour de Carmel is a special event that consists of a 10-mile and 20-mile long bike ride through Carmel. While riding, participants get to rest at locations offering healthy snacks, drinks and entertainment. Pre-registration ensures a free goodie bag and t-shirt. Day of the event registration will be accepted as well.
As far as taking part in these events, according to marketing manager for the CCPR, Lindsay Labas, the best way to do so is to become involved through active participation.
“The best way for them (students) to get involved is through volunteering,” Labas said.
According to Labas, volunteering for the CCPR is a great way to get involved and also learn skills that can be applicable later in life.
“The best part of volunteering is that it allows you to learn new skills, meet new people and make a difference within the community,” she said. By Audrey Bailey <[email protected]>
