The CHS men’s varsity tennis team is well on their way to defending their 2009 Metropolitan Interscholastic
Conference (MIC) men’s tennis title after winning the John Shirley Invitational in late August according to star player and junior Mihir Kumar.
Kumar said, “It (The John Shirley Invitational) is a good mid-season indicator (on the team’s prospect’s on a MIC title), so I think we have a good shot (at a MIC title)”.
CHS did not get into this remarkable position without hard work according to tennis coach Mike Bostic via e-mail.
Bostic said, “All of our players are year-round players. Most play tournaments throughout the year and work with private coaches in private and group situations.”
Bostic says that team unity will be key in order to continue the success and win the 2010 MIC title. By Matt Barnthouse <[email protected]>
