Aperture Club to meet Jan. 24

The next Aperture Club meeting is scheduled for Jan. 24, according to Arjuna Capulong, Aperture Club president and senior. Since the last meeting in December was cancelled due to the snow day, members will review contest entries from November and announce winners whose work will be published on a future HiLite issue, Twitter or Facebook.

In addition, according to Capulong, members will upload photos online through Facebook, where they can publicize their work and receive feedback and critiques for improvement. The process of critiquing, Capulong said, is beneficial for every photographer because it is the most efficient way to make improvements.

As the president of the Aperture Club, Capulong plays an important role by organizing meetings, managing the public relations and communicating with the members of the club.

Aperture Club sponsor Jim Streisel said, “I allow the students to make the decisions regarding the club.”

“It’s amazing that Carmel never had a photography club, despite the number of photography classes it offers, until the Aperture Club,” Capulong said. “I’ve been in this club for three years, and I think it’s nice to be around people who express the same interests as I do.” By Monica Cheng <[email protected]>
