The Aperture Club meeting is scheduled for March 14, according to Arjuna Capulong, Aperture Club president and senior. Members plan to review their entries to the photography contest, for which the theme was to take a photo illustrating the love of life.
In addition, according to Capulong, members will be uploading photos online through Facebook, where they would publicize their work and receive feedback and critiques for improvement. The process of critiquing, Capulong said, is beneficial for every photographer because it is the most efficient way to make improvements.
As the president of the Aperture Club, Ca
pulong plays an important role by organizing meetings, managing the public relations and communicating with the members of the club.
Aperture Club sponsor Jim Streisel said, “I allow the students to make the decisions regarding the club.”
“It's amazing that Carmel never had a photography club, despite the number of photography classes it offers, until the Aperture Club,” Capulong said. “I've been in this club for three years, and I think it's nice to be around people who express the same interests as I do.” By Monica Cheng <[email protected]>
