GKOM prepares for final second semester meeting

The GKOM organization is currently scheduled to have its next connection session on April 14 during SRT. This meeting is scheduled to be the last meeting for the 2010- 2011 school year, according to sponsor Jennifer Powell.

“In our last meeting of the school year we will have a wrap-up with the freshmen and with the GKOMs. As of now, this will be a pretty unstructured meeting where they may reflect on the events of the year, or other topics that they choose,” Powell said.

According to junior Terrance Lewis, who is a GKOM for the first time this year, the purpose of GKOM is to ease the transition for freshmen from middle school to high school. This is the first year that the GKOM program has scheduled meetings during second semester.

“I always get excited for the upcoming connection session. I love all of my freshmen and I love talking with them. The last meeting of the year will be kind of sad,” said Lewis. By Lindsey Walker
