According to DECA Sponsor Janice Brown, DECA’s last event for the school year will be the International Career Development Conference, which will take place from April 28 to May 4.

Students invited to this international conference were selected from the DECA State Conference on March 6 to 8. Students and partners who placed in the top five places for each event were invited to participate in the International Career Development Conference, which is based in Orlando, FL this year.

“Typically, Carmel sends about 25 people to the international conference every year,” Brown said.

This year, however, only 13 students will be competing at the international level. Besides the actual competition, some students were also selected to participate in a separate leadership conference, also held in the same location. Brad Kremer, DECA member and junior, was one of those invited to the conference.

“Although it’s not as cool as going to the competition itself, I’m still really excited to attend this leadership conference,” Kremer said.

For DECA, the international conference is the last event for the organization.
