This year, the choir program removed Blue and Gold Connection and added Blue and Gold Singers and Select Sound, according to choir director Diana Gillespie.
Due to a majority of girls and a disparity in age and experience, the choir directors decided to get rid of the mixed choir (both boys and girls) Blue and Gold Connection. However due to an increase of boys this year, directors will add two new choirs to the program, Blue and Gold Singers and Select Sound.
“We are thrilled because this means a whole new set of music, new choreographers, new costumes, and the students are really excited about it too,” Gillespie said about the new choirs.
Sophomore Thomas “Tom” Sheridan is in Select Sound for his second year of choir. “I’m really excited about choir this year. I feel like in my new group, a higher standard will be kept so we can sound better,” he said.
Gillespie and Ann Conrad both direct Blue and Gold Singers while Lamonte Kuskye directs Select Sound.
