Students Against Violence and Abuse leaders leave, club discontinued

The Students Against Violence and Abuse club (SAVA) was formed to raise awareness and help prevent domestic violence and abuse. However, according to past sponsor Jane Wildman, the club, which began with around 30 members, disbanded last year because the club’s leaders graduated.

Two students founded the club in early 2009. Alumnus of ’09 Jade Thomas and alumnus of ’11 Sara Towle formed the club because they had experienced abuse themselves and wanted to help prevent others from going through the same situation. The club no longer exists because they have graduated and left CHS.

Wildman said via email, “If you happen to know any students who might be interested in reorganizing it, let me know.” She can be contacted through email at jwildman.ccs.k12.in.us or through phone at 317-571-5922 ext. 7448.
