Homework Helpers begins the week of Nov. 12 to 16, according to sponsor Susan Johnson. The club will not admit any new members this semester, but is considering allowing more to join next.

Every Tuesday, the club members tutor elementary school students at Carmel Elementary School. Members of Homework Helpers assist the students in various subjects.

“We also help supervise playground or reading activities, whatever the teachers at Carmel Elementary School need us to do. It’s a unique opportunity for the members,” Sponsor Susan Johnson said.

According to Co-president and senior Abinand Rejimon, not only can Homework Helpers provide a special experience for its members, but the club can also provide service hours for NHS and Key Club.

Rejimon said, “We just want to help the children that stay after school in this program feel like they are getting attention and help in homework.”
