Junior Ava Ehret, an equestrian for Burnett Farms, trains with her horse. Ehret said her sport takes up a significant amount of her free time. Ehret said, My whole school year (turned upside down) because I moved to a new barn. I’m gone for four hours after school; I get (out of school), get up there at 5 p.m. and get back at 9 p.m. So there’s just no time to do anything that’s not what I currently do, and to be honest, there’s no time for that either.”

The Rising Stars will have its next meeting after school on Dec. 6. During the meeting, the officers and club members will have the chance to socialize, play acting games, and discuss upcoming events.

“We will be having a white elephant gift exchange,” Carolyn Keller, president of the club and senior, said via online.

There will also be a holiday movie and food. Students are encouraged to wear a tacky Christmas sweater to the meeting and bring a gift, costing no more than $5, for the gift exchange.

“Students are all welcome to attend the (club) meetings,” Jim Peterson, sponsor of Rising Stars, said.
