The Pinnacle and HiLite will be attending a National High School Journalism Convention in San Francisco this coming April according to adviser Nicole Wilson.
Wilson said that around convention time, “it’s less about the preparation, and more about being totally immersed in the journalism setting. According to Pinnacle member and sophomore Joy Huang, conventions are a good way to broaden ones horizons and spark new ideas. She described the experience as “exciting.”
“It brought me closer to my Pinnacle family,” she said.
As the Jan. 25 deadline approaches, Huang said the new staff recruits, herself included, are now getting in the full swing of things.
“The first semester, I definitely struggled managing my time and producing quality work. Learning how to design, write and how the staff works was really difficult at first. However, now that I get the hang of it, I’m looking forward to getting new spreads to work on and making killer pages that will go in the awesome 2013 Pinnacle Yearbook.”
“They’re in the mode–that mentality of getting stuff done,” Wilson said.
