New fitness center at CHS will help solve Carmel Dads Club’s facilities issues

According to Jack Beery, Carmel Dads Club president, the new fitness center, which is scheduled to open in the late fall, will help solve facilities issues at the Dads Club by adding two new gyms. Beery said the Dads Club relies on gyms at CHS to function, but with over 12,000 athletes, new facilities, according to Beery, are long overdue.

“The biggest need at the Dads Club right now is for extra gym space,” Beery said. “The fitness facility at Carmel High School is really going to help. The current facilities just aren’t big enough to house as many kids as they need to.”

Freshman Gabby Paolucci plays soccer for the Dads Club and said she is thrilled about the new gyms because they will allow more students to learn the valuable life lessons that she has learned through soccer.

“I’ve learned a lot in Carmel Dads Club,” Paolucci said. “I learned that in order to win you have to work with your teammates and listen to your coach and practice almost every day. I think it’s great that more kids will be able to learn these lessons.”

Beery said he agrees that the new facilities at CHS will provide athletes at the Dads Club with great new opportunities.

“The facilities have needed an upgrade for a long time,” Beery said. “It’s going to create a better environment for the kids. It’s a real advantage for the kids.”
