Junior class promotes prom

The Junior Class will work to spread the word about prom in the
upcoming weeks. Junior Class sponsor Jennifer Rhodes said one of the
tasks the Junior Class officers complete is announcing information
about prom.
“The kids are supposed to be on announcements for the next couple of
weeks, announcing the date, the time, when ticket sales are, all of
that stuff,” Rhodes said.
According to Junior Class treasurer Joshua “Josh” Ebikwo, announcing
ticket sales is one of the Junior Class officers’ only tasks.
“We, actually, as class officers, don’t really do too much to prepare
for prom,” Ebikwo said.
According to Rhodes and Ebikwo, prom sponsor Maureen Borto handles
most of the organizational work for prom.
Ebikwo said there will be some changes to prom this year. For
instance, this year’s prom will have no theme. Ebikwo suspects some
students may not want to go to prom because of the changes, but he
said he believes a student’s level of enjoyment is determined by the
student himself.
“I really feel prom is what you make it,” Ebikwo said. “If you go into
prom with a bad attitude and you think that ‘Oh, I’m not going to have
a good time,’ then you might not have a good time, but if you go into
it with a good attitude – like with anything else – you’ll have a good
time.”
