Mock Trial creates teams, begins preparing for competitions

Mock Trial will finish team tryouts and then will start their team practices. The team tryouts were conducted from Nov. 17 to 19, giving roles, such as attorneys and witnesses, to members of the club. According to sponsor Holly Hochstedler, the team will now receive casebooks and study them.

Andrew Ardizone, Mock Trial member and sophomore, said, “Mock Trial has selected a competition team.” According to Ardizone, “The team will now be going through the casebooks more and more thoroughly at each meeting.” After studying the case, the team forms good questions and arguments to use both in practice and in the upcoming competitions.

Mock Trial’s first competition is Jan. 14, 2015.  It is conducted at the Hamilton County Judiciary Center in Noblesville and will begin at 6 p.m. They will continue to have competitions every Wednesday after that, until they reach the play-in round on Feb. 18.
